Stories Pulp Magazine

A Very Short Story?
Wilson, my neighbor, brought over a bag of grass clippings the other day. He stood on my front step: motionless, sincere, unaffected by the strangeness of the situation. I took the bag and thanked him, told him I had been “looking everywhere for grass.” I’m not sure why he gave me the clippings, maybe it was his way of saying “goodbye.”
I stored the clippings in the attic, next to a lamp and a dirty filing cabinet. I hadn’t been up there in awhile, so I decided to rummage through old belongings. I came across a rectangular book collection which consisted of a few pulp novels and magazines. Too lazy to read, I picked up The Outsider and The Transformation. “The need for mystery is greater than the need for an answer” I read out loud, tore, and clipped to the bag of grass. You never know what you’ll find in the attic. It’s a place riddled with old junk and seminal treasures.
hmmm interesting. Do the grass clippings represent something? hmmm does wilson in this story have anything to do with the Wilson in home improvement. Very wise?

Amazing Stories $106.74 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Amazing Stories was an American science fiction magazine launched in April 1926 by Hugo Gernsbacks Experimenter Publishing. It was the first magazine devoted solely to science fiction. Before Amazing, science fiction stories had made regular appearances in other magazines, including some published by Gernsback, but Amazing helped define and launch a new genre of pulp fiction. Amazing was published, with some interruptions, for almost eighty years. The title first changed hands in 1929, when Gernsback was forced into bankruptcy and lost control of the magazine. Amazing became unprofitable during the 1930s and in 1938 was purchased by ZiffDavis, who hired Raymond A. Palmer as editor. Palmer made the magazine successful though it was not regarded as a quality magazine within the science fiction community Author: Miller, Frederic P./ Vandome, Agnes F./ McBrewster, John Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 142 Publication Date: 2009/12/08 Language: English Dimensions: 5.98 x 9.01 x 0.33 inches |

Unknown (Magazine) $82.85 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles Unknown (also known as Unknown Worlds) was a pulp fantasy fiction magazine, edited by John W. Campbell, that was published from 1939 to 1943. Unknown was closely associated with the science fiction magazine Astounding Science Fiction, which was also edited by Campbell at the time; many authors and illustrators contributed to both magazines. In keeping with its relation to Astounding Science Fiction, the style and approach of the stories in Unknown was a hybrid between those of fantasy and science fiction. The premises of many of the stories were caused by unexpected, and often humorous, situations in which a traditional fantasy creature or concept is introduced into an otherwise ordinary world. For example, in de Camps Nothing in the Rules, the manager of a swimming team tries to win a race by including a mermaid on the team. Author: Surhone, Lambert M./ Tennoe, Mariam T./ Henssonow, Susan F. Binding Type: Paperback Number of Pages: 112 Publication Date: 2010/12/14 Language: English Dimensions: 6.00 x 9.02 x 0.27 inches |
