Should army stop using Hooah?
Now that the Army has new uniforms and boots and headgear, should they do somthing with the HOOAH thing? In spite of what Soldiers Magazine, AFN, and the Sergeant Major says nobody in the Army really used it untill late 80′s, and then it was the Infantry.(That Indian Chief story is a real crock) I say Army should yell WAA-HOO instead like Sgt. Fury and His Howling Commados.
No Marines say Hoo Rah..big difference.
I guess thats why army guys can fly right out of high school but airforce dudes need to go to school for 4 more years. HUH?
Its NOT a tradition! Its some annoying thing someone made up.GI’s in Normandy never used it nor Korea or Vietnam. After 1st Gulf War it started to be used more and more.
I have 2 kids in the army, they say it, but like, a joke, or whatever. The Marines sound better, cooler. It’s too much of a tradition to change it, but yeah, if you could, you would get NO complaint from the Army!

Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, they first appeared in Sgt. Fury and his Howling Commandos #1 (May 1963). The main character, Sgt. Nick Fury, later became the leader of Marvels superspy agency, S.H.I.E.L.D.. Nicholas Joseph Fury was the eldest of three children born to Jack Fury. His father was a United States citizen who enlisted in the United Kingdoms Royal Flying Corps during World War I. Jack had enlisted in 1916, and later stationed in France. Given the rank of lieutenant, he reportedly shot down Baron Manfred von Richthofen early in the Red Barons flying career, and was a highlydecorated combat aviator by the end of the war in 1918. He first appeared in Our Army at War #83 (June1959), and was created by Robert Kanigher and Joe Kubert. Sgt. Rocks prototype first appeared in G.I. Combat #68 (Jan. 1959). His rank is not given in this story; instead, he is merely called The Rock. The Rock returned as a sergeant in Our Army at War #81 (April 1959) Named Sgt. Rocky with his unit, Easy Company (the precise US Army infantry regiment to which Easy belonged was never identified during the history of the character). In this last prototype appearance with the Easy Company (as opposed to the nameless infantryman with a nickname, as he was portrayed previously), the story was actually written by Bob Haney, but the characters creator, Robert Kanigher was the editor.
