It is a companion to her earlier book Tithe: A Modern Faerie Tale, but can also be read as a standalone novel. The book follows the life of runaway Valerie Russell in New York. Valerie is the child of a single mother and is quite tomboyish. At the start of the novel, Val attends high school, is a lacrosse player, and is best friends with the eccentric lesbianidentified Ruth. Val discovers her boyfriend, Tom, and her mother are having an affair. Betrayed and not sure where to go, Val runs away to New York City. She meets up with a group of teensquatters, including Lolli (as in lollipop), Dave, and Luis. Val earns the nickname Prince Valiant after she helps a drag queen locate her shoe. The Valiant Brothers $74.88 High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles The Valiant Brothers were a professional wrestling tag team of storyline brothers Handsome Jimmy Valiant, Luscious Johnny Valiant, and Gentleman Jerry Valiant. The team wrestled for National Wrestling Alliance (NWA), World Wide Wrestling Federation / World Wrestling Federation (WWWF/WWF) and World Wrestling Association (WWA). Jimmy Valiant and Johnny Valiant formed a tag team in World Wrestling Association as storyline brothers. They began wrestling together as heels. They debuted as a team on January 5, 1974 when they defeated Dick the Bruiser and Bruno Sammartino to win the WWA World Tag Team Championship. The titles were held up after a match against Bruiser and Sammartino on January 25. On February 7, they defeated Bruiser and Sammartino in a rematch to win the titles, a second time. They became the most popular heel tag team in WWA during their second reign. Their tenure with WWA ended after they lost the tag titles to Wilbur Snyder and Pepper Gomez on May 4. Valiant Tank $60.54 The Tank, Infantry, Valiant (A38) was a British tank design of the Second World War that only reached the prototype stage. The design was so infamously bad that the sole example was retained by the School of Tank Technology postwar as a dire lesson to its students.The A38 Valiant began as a candidate for an assault tank, with the thickest armour on the lowest possible weight. It was to be similar in intention to the A33 Excelsior, but far lighter than its 40 tons. As the Valiant managed the same 114mm frontal armour with only 27 tons, it managed to achieve its primary goal, but only by making unacceptable compromises elsewhere.
