Marvel Comics Battlestar

In the Spider-Man movies, why did they make Gwen Stacy White?
I have absolutely no problem with White actresses…I’m just wondering if anyone (especially Marvel comics fans) knows why a Black character (in the Spider-Man comic) like Gwen Stacy was played by a White actress? On a side note, why did a similar thing happen on Battlestar Galactica (Starbuck went from being a White male to becoming a White female; Boomer went from being a Black male to becoming an Asian female). To the PC crowd, my question isn’t hate-based…I’m just curious.
Folks, I’m so embarassed…King of Kings has astutely pointed out that Gwen Stacy was White in the comic…I must have mistaken her for another character (does anyone remember any Black Marvel characters named “Gwen”). Oh well, I’d still love to hear replies regarding Battlestar Galactica and/or the Kingpin’s being Black in the Daredevil movie.
Gwen Stacey is a white character, in the movie and the Marvel Comics!
Take a look at this link from the Marvel Comics of Gwen Stacey. DOES SHE LOOK BLACK?????

However, remember the film Daredevil? The comic character is white:

But the movie Kingpin was played by Michael Clark Duncan, a black guy:
